Happy summer! We’ve welcomed two new summer interns – meet Mariam and Perla.

Mariam is the Early Child Education (ECE) Center’s cook helper. Mariam’s job is to help with food preparation and delivering food to classrooms. When Mariam was informed about this job opportunity she knew she had to apply because she was ready to start a job for the first time in her life. What Mariam enjoys most about working at Florence Crittenton Services is being able to interact with the children. After high school Mariam hopes to become an ECE teacher here at FloCrit.

Perla is the FloCrit Development team’s intern. Her job is to help with any emails, event arrangements, Baby Bucks store, and any additional projects. When Perla heard about the job she instantly knew she had to apply to expand her social job skills. Perla really enjoys understanding how a nonprofit works, and likes being part of a team that is supportive and works well together. Perla also helped manage the School Supply Drive this year. She made all bins and she made the route to deliver bins and flyers to most Denver Public Libraries and some companies. Perla wants to improve her knowledge and skills, with the hope that she will become a successful business owner in the future.

These girls took their summer free time to help and expand their work experience which really speaks volumes. Thank you girls!
