ECE Center Graduate Profile: Eliana

This year, the ECE Center was excited to be able to offer in-person learning spots to children of alumna, and Eliana enrolled in the preschool classroom with Ms. Sherry, Ms. Gina, and Ms. Rachel.

Eliana started attending the ECE Center when she was just 7 weeks old. Her mother, Victoria, is a FloCrit alum. This year, the ECE Center was excited to be able to offer in-person learning spots to children of alumna, and Eliana enrolled in the preschool classroom with Ms. Sherry, Ms. Gina, and Ms. Rachel. Eliana loves creating art, and will proudly show you the drawings she makes in her class. She plays on the playground in the sandbox, and makes things with Play Doh. Eliana has made good friends in her classroom at the FloCrit ECE Center. She plays with Violet and Ashly, the two other girls in her class, the most. “We are the girls!” she exclaims. “They are my favorites.”

“My teachers are Ms. Sherry, and Ms. Gina, and Ms. Rachel,” says Eliana. Ms. Sherry taught Eliana about letters, and all her teachers taught her how to be nice to others. Eliana’s teachers Gina Larqueir and Sherry Jones talk about how she is a team player and likes to play with her friends. “This was my first year having Eliana in the classroom, and let me just say how sweet this girl is,” says Ms. Gina. “Since the first day she started, she walked in with a big smile and was eager to learn. After Eliana got to know us she would give us hugs and say good morning at arrival every day. This girl is more than ready for kindergarten!” Ms. Sherry says that Eliana is already learning the letters in her name, can count, and sing the ABCs. “She loves books, and is great at making new friends,” says Ms. Sherry. “Her new school will be lucky to have her as a member of their Kindergarten class! We will really miss her smiling face.”

Eliana is excited to start Kindergarten. She is already planning the most important items that she will need to bring with her on the first day of school, like a backpack with a unicorn on it and a lunchbox. She is ready to play with her new friends, but hopes that her friends from FloCrit will come with her. “It’s brave to go to school,” Eliana says, and she definitely has the courage to take this next big step!
