Housing

FloCrit Housing is a robust homeless prevention program that helps pregnant and parenting youth secure safe and affordable housing, allowing them to move from surviving to thriving.

Achieving dreams starts with having a stable place to live. FloCrit Housing assists pregnant and parenting youth with:

Financial Assistance

Teens shouldn’t have to choose between education and employment due to cost of living. FloCrit families can receive assistance with first month’s rent and deposit, rental arrears, emergency hotels, application fees, utilities, relocation costs, and more.

Placement Support

We help pregnant and parenting youth find, apply, and retain emergency, transitional, and rental housing when they are unsure of their next step. FloCrit Housing partners with housing providers in Metro Denver who have housing units for families and youth.

Housing Voucher Assistance

We partner with local public housing authorities to allocate Housing Choice Vouchers to FloCrit families. Our Housing Voucher Specialist supports those partnerships and assists our families with getting on waitlists and lotteries for other project based and housing voucher opportunities.

Additionally, placement support is paired with case management once FloCrit families obtain a housing voucher.

Housing Basic Needs

The on-site Housing Basic Needs Store assists FloCrit teen families to reduce their cost of living and create a space that feels like home by providing access to cleaning supplies, kitchenware, bedding, and more — all at no cost.

“I wish people knew that the housing problem is a crisis. We cannot work, further our education, or support our children without first having a stable place to live. It is a fundamental necessity.”
