How did you first hear about FloCrit, and what made you interested in volunteering?
We first heard about FloCrit in 2017, when Professional 50 Forward (P50F) began as an Employee Resource Group (ERG) in the Denver Metro area for AT&T. We took over the role that DIRECTV formerly supported back in 2013. We wanted to continue to be engaged when we saw that teen mothers and their children needed support. We are strong believers that when children are shown how strong they can be with additional encouragement and guidance, they can achieve anything they set out to do. A crucial piece of that puzzle is the fact that multiple generations attend FloCrit, and we fit into it.

How long have you been volunteering with FloCrit?
We have been partnering with FloCrit since 2013.  We continue to provide support as we can, and we are determined to keep that bond for many years to come.

With which activities/events have you helped at FloCrit?
We have been engaged in many of the activities and events that support FloCrit. Most recently, we have helped with the following events. In 2019, we helped with backpacks for the girls, Earth Day/Field Day, shopping in Baby Bucks, Appreciation Day, FloCrit and P50F Partner Together (craft day), and the school supply drive.

In April 2020, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were looking forward to volunteering at the Pathways to Empowerment fundraising event and helping with prom set up.

How does volunteering with FloCrit fit into your company’s priorities?
Our mission is to leverage our experience by promoting Life-Long Learning, Community Engagement, and Collaboration to improve the quality of life for our members and our communities. We are FORWARD:

What would you say to a group/company that is looking for a place to volunteer and considering FloCrit?
FloCrit’s staff is always organized, available, and easy to partner with. They make working with them fun and inspirational. Anyone who enjoys being around eager children and mothers who want encouragement and guidance should definitely look to engage with FloCrit. It is always a very heartwarming event to see the appreciation that is experienced at all levels. We highly recommend reaching out to see what events and activities will fit into volunteer time, whether it be personal or with a company.
