Company/Group Name & Industry:
Atmos Energy, Your Natural Gas Company

How did you first hear about FloCrit and what made you interested in volunteering?
Atmos Energy teamed up with Mile High United Way to revise and strengthen our charitable giving strategy in Denver. We are a “small, but mighty” office comprised of approximately 20 employees who manage teams throughout Colorado and Kansas. Given our size we were searching for a charitable organization where we felt our contributions could truly make a difference. After touring FloCrit’s campus and meeting their “small, but mighty” leadership team we knew this was an organization where we could effectively drive positive change in the community by helping to empower teen mothers and their children!

How long have you been volunteering with FloCrit?
We began our partnership with FloCrit right before the holidays in 2018. Atmos Energy participated in the Holiday Giving Project, which provides unwrapped gifts to the young mothers and their children at the start of their winter break.  he project was rewarding for all involved, and it prompted Atmos Energy’s desire to partner with FloCrit throughout 2019.

With which activities/events have you helped at FloCrit?
Atmos Energy volunteers have helped organize the Baby Bucks store, refurbish picnic tables, and participated in the annual Miles for Moms 5K Run/Walk. We look forward to continued opportunities to raise awareness for these young families who have sacrificed so much to earn their diploma and reach their dreams.

How does volunteering with FloCrit fit into your company’s priorities?
At Atmos Energy, community service is a key part of our culture. To us, it’s more than writing a check; it’s about becoming fundamentally involved with an organization to better serve the needs of our community. There is a great need to help educate, prepare, and empower young mothers and their children throughout Colorado and we are honored to play a very small part in that journey.

What would you say to a group/company that is looking for a place to volunteer and considering FloCrit?
We would highly recommend you tour the FloCrit campus. You will be hooked immediately! Seeing these young mothers in action, witnessing their determination and their love for their little ones will melt your heart.
