If you’ve visited our campus and toured our ECEC, you’ve seen the fun the kids have in their classrooms. Our ECEC teachers fill the time with fun games, books, crafts, and outdoor play time. Many of these activities also encourage developmental growth in the children that teachers track and assess through the detailed Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment. Even at a young age, they’re learning while having fun! ECEC teachers tailor activities to help children meet development objectives.

The young mothers like Angie, whose daughter Mia is in the preschool room, use the assessment tools, too. “The assessments not only show me that Mia does things like counting and talking and using her hands at home, but that she’s comfortable doing them with other people like her teachers.” Angie smiles, “It comforts me knowing that Mia is learning something new every day, not just being watched.”

The children have library time with Ms. Lisa from Denver Public Library once a week. Ms. Lisa reads stories and does song and dance with the children. She also shares books and music with the children.
